Pranassage
Pranassage is a creative synthesis of yoga and bodywork that produces deep relaxation in the receiver. Millions of people are turning to yoga classes as a means to bring harmony between the body and mind, yet many more millions are intimidated by the task of sorting through mountains of books and making personal sense out of the varieties of popular forms to choose from. Here is a method that eases you into the journey and does not require a bit of effort to begin.
Pranassage works like this, think of yourself as a marionette. Your practitioner will physically move your body into a flow of positions that allow you the pleasure of watching how you feel in each position from the inside out. The benefits are immediate, from the opening moment of the first session. What could be more relaxing than getting comfortable and hearing that your role is to let go and enjoy the experience of being in your body.
As your practitioner begins to shift your body into interesting movements and positions, you have the opportunity to witness the forgotten possibilities for motion and actions that provide balance and relief throughout every part of your body. Using their body weight to accentuate the parts of your body being effected, you will hear the question often in your session “would you like more pressure or less pressure?” This allows the practitioner to adjust to the shape and contour of your muscles. The principle behind Pranssage is letting gravity do the work.
Pranassage calls upon the breath, touch, and postures to bring Prana to our conscious awareness.
